Platte Purchase Park

Platte Purchase Park

Managed by Kansas City Parks & Recreation

In 2001, Platte County looked out over acres of rolling farmland just north of 152 Highway and saw the potential for both passive and active recreation.  In partnership with the City of Kansas City, the County built Platte Purchase Park, which accommodates sports complexes for both baseball and softball.

A state-of-the-art playground, shelter and one-mile walking trail are also part of the $1.5 million phase one of the park.  The modern playground equipment includes the Spinner Bowl, the Speeder, the Supernova, the Dorado and the Circuit.

Take time and relax in the spacious shelter located next to the playground. The shelter is available to rent through the City of Kansas City. Platte Purchase Park is located just north of 152 Highway off of Platte Purchase Drive. For information about event reservation and park operations, please call 816-513-7500.
