Total Solar Eclipse Watch Party

Join Platte County Parks & Recreation at Platte Ridge Park for a Total Solar Eclipse watch party - Monday, August 21 from 11:00 am- 3:00 pm. A rare eclipse of this kind has not been visible in this area since 1869, and will not be seen again here for 189 years. Concessions will be available while supplies last. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and pick a spot at our beautiful park!

There are 299 parking spots at the baseball complex and 273 parking spots at the soccer complex. At 10:45 a.m. we will begin handing out solar eclipse glasses at the gates of the baseball complex. Parking & glasses are first-come, first-served.

The eclipse should start to be visible at this site at 11:40 a.m. The start of the total eclipse will be at approximately 1:07 p.m. and will last about 2 minutes.

Remember, please safely view the eclipse with the proper eyewear.
