National Trails Day - June 3

June 3rd is National Trails Day! Join the City of Lake Waukomis and Platte County Parks & Recreation to celebrate the completion of the South Park Walking Trail. From 3-6 pm, rain or shine, we are having a picnic in the park with a trail challenge and live music. Other activities will include bird house painting, chalk drawing, jump rope, bean bag toss and more! This is a family event - bring your picnic basket, blanket and camp chairs.  Hot dogs, chips and lemonade will be provided. Please, no pets. Call Debora for more info at 303-884-3051.

National Trails Day is a celebration of America’s magnificent Trail System, occurring annually on the first Saturday in June. America’s 200,000 miles of trails allow us access to the natural world for recreation, education, exploration, solitude, inspiration, and much more. Trails give us a means to support good physical and mental health; they provide us with a chance to breathe fresh air, get our hearts pumping, and escape from our stresses.

Bring your family and friends to any of Platte County's beautiful trails. Click on Trails at the top of our webpage for maps and information!
