What sports are available in the County?
A wide variety of youth and adult sports programs are available to all residents in recreational and competitive leagues and clinics. The County does not offer these programs directly, but partners with many different municipal and non-profit associations. Leagues include Clay-Platte Baseball, Northland Sports Alliance, Platte City Parks & Recreation and the YMCA. How can I reserve a shelter or ball field?
Call the Parks & Recreation office at (816) 858-3419 to reserve a shelter or ball field. The schedules can be checked by clicking here and visiting the individual park page for the facility.
Where do I call to report a problem?
Call the Platte County Parks & Recreation Office at (816) 858-3419 during office hours (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) to report problems. After hours, call the Platte County Sheriff’s Department at (816) 858-2424.
Are pets allowed in parks?
Pets are allowed in the parks and on trails but must be restrained according to County Ordinance 315.010 - A dog shall be physically restrained by a chain or leash and under the control of the owner or possessor at all times. The dog owner or possessor must remove any solid waste deposited by the dog within a park or on a trail.
The only exception is Green Hills of Platte Wildlife Preserve. No dogs are allowed on that property.
What forms of payment are accepted for fees?
The Platte County Parks Department can accept cash, check, credit or debit cards for fees.

What are the fees for the Community Centers?
The fees for the Platte County Community Centers are set by our partner, the YMCA. The YMCA offers a personal pricing program that determines membership cost based upon income. The YMCA strives to not turn anyone away and many different financial programs are available. Visit www.kansascityymca.org for more information.
Where is the main park office located?
The main park office is located in the Platte County Government complex at 415 Third Street, Platte City, MO. The office is in the lower level of the administration building. |
